Heroes

The Hero’s Journey ✨

Every culture tells stories. And in nearly every story, there’s a hero. Some cultures are obsessed with them—heroes who conquer, who lead, who sacrifice. Often, these heroes are crafted with purpose: to promote nationalism, to uphold patriarchy, or to preserve certain cultural values. They're more than characters—they’re tools of influence, shaped by the societies that need them.

Joseph Campbell called them the hero with a thousand faces—archetypes that echo across time and geography. But for many of us, those traditional heroes didn’t quite do the job. They didn’t look like us. They didn’t live like us. They didn’t struggle like us.

So we made new ones. Bigger. Flashier. Supercharged. We invented superheroes. They leap off the page. They defy gravity. They bend time. But more importantly, they carry our modern fears, hopes, and contradictions. Do you recognize these heroes?
